We're back....

Our trip to the Gold Coast was wonderful... but seriously not long enough ;) the weather was fabulous and there was so much more we wanted to do but simply ran out of time.
The boys loved all the theme parks- especially wet n' wild

After getting home and I was faced with a mountain of scrapping projects I have yet to complete but decided to put it all aside and worked on some arty stuff instead... which is just what I needed and got another page done in my art journal for the Blue Bazaar challenge
And this strange looking painting is actually a self portrait lol - done for Gary Reef's challenge where you could only use blue, green, yellow and white to do the portrait. I really like the colour combo and use it alot in my scrapping but found it pretty difficult to use these colours in a portrait and think mine's a bit alien looking....
but hey it's art ;) Inspired by this photo - taken by John De Lambardo
Also forgot to add this earlier - this is my version of Van Gogh's Sunflowers - scrapping style! again for a Gary Reef challenge
Hope you're all having a great week

Firstly a BIG thanks to all of you for your well wishes and kind words both through your comments and emails - it means a lot!! and I'm really happy to be able to say that Terrance is slowly on the mend :) and was moved from intensive care into an isolation ward today (due to the CF) where he will now spend the next 4-5 weeks, but he is doing much better which is the main thing!!

And because Terrance's condition has stabilised, we have decided to go ahead with out trip to the Gold Coast on Sunday. And even though we had organised this a long time ago - we were thinking of cancelling due to what has happened - and haven't even started packing :0 so it looks like a full day for me tomorrow.

Please say a prayer.....

On Monday night our nephew was rushed to Westmead Children's Hospital after having a seizure.
Terrance is currently in the intensive care unit - and after many tests his parents were told today that he has contracted Meningitis which triggered the seizures and caused swelling on his brain - and to complicate matters even more Terrance suffers from Cystic Fibrosis which affects his lungs and digestive system and while we are use to visiting him in the hosipital... seeing him in such a state has been devestating.
Terrance who is just 16 yrs old is also waiting to hear if he will qualify for a much needed lung transplant.... please keep him in your prayers!!

Can you help?

I have really been touched by the tragedy of the Victorian bush fires and cannot begin to imagine the terrible loss these families are going through.... and like so many others wanted to be able to do something to help!

Today I came across Sarah Gladman's blog and was very inspired by the wonderful way that we can help those families to rebuild their memories though 'Memory Gifts'.....

Sarah says:
"As scrappers, one of the most important things we deal with on a daily basis are memories. Family memories, memories of loved ones, memories of holidays, birthdays, christenings, bbq’s and days at the beach. These families in Victoria have got no tangible evidence of their lives left. No family photos. No happy snaps. You can replace a fridge, but you can’t replace years of momentos."

And if card making is more your thing, then please assist Sandie Downey with the 'Card Drive' on her blog!

Also you can visit the the Australian Red Cross for many more ways to help those in need.
