mint and gold....

As soon as I saw the gorgeous Moodboard  Challenge over at Sassy Scrapper I knew I wanted to play along with the fabulous mix of mint and gold with a touch of sparkle, and I wasn't going to let a busy week get in the way ;)

Getting in just before the deadline, here's my take the challenge...

I scrapped one of my favourite summer memories of Cayden chasing after the seagulls at the beach.

I layered lots of pretty mint and shiny gold foil items

as well as some sparkly gold glitter - and how cute is this little flair badge from my lovely friend Sian :)

project life weeks 15 and 16...

I realised the other day that I had quite a few pages from my project life album I still haven't shared - there are 12 all up! Starting with April, here are the first four pages using another awesome kit from Gossamer Blue.
April started with another week of grey skies and rain. My niece bought a fabulous new car, my nephew celebrated his birthday and once again my boys went fishing.

I have continued using and altered a Simple Stories filler card to mark the start of the month - the 'week in review stamps' from the kit were awesome for adding a weekly summary to my page.

there were plenty of everyday moments to record - I added a few items from my stash to record the details.

the lovely Michelle from The Stamp Spot put me onto these fun Lawn Fawn Spring Showers dies which are awesome for all those rainy day pics - let her know if you'd like a set too! I coated the raindrops with a little glossy accents to give them some dimension.

once again there were fish on my pages ;)

The second week of April took the boys out looking at cars, and reminded us that Easter was just around the corner.

apart from the photos and all the pretty things, I love that Project Life gives me the opportunity to record little conversations and details that would otherwise be forgotten.

We made our annual trip to the forest to collect wild mushroom and berries. I have also started an insert with plenty more pics from this day, but I didn't quite finish it before moving on to the next month.

I used the stitching to cover up a rather unsightly pole in photo - can you spot it?

I dressed up one of the pics from our haul of mushrooms. We collected 8 buckets in total.

I'll be back with the other 8 pages soon!

time for a challenge or two...

I had good intentions of playing along with all of the D-lish Scraps Birthday Bonanza Challenges, but unfortunately time got the better of me and I only ended up with 2 layouts.

The first layout was for Ros's Scrap Bingo Challenge and I used the 4th horizontal row featuring stitching, flairs, washi tape, sequins and bling.
here's a better look at the items I used to meet the criteria for the challenge - the washi tape, flair, sequins and black rhinestones for the bling all came from this month's gorgeous Just Add Paper Kit.

Just Add Paper Kits - July (sold out)

I also took on Wendy's Colour Challenge using a mix of white, yellow, light and dark blues.
I don't normally use a lot of flowers on my layouts but I knew that the gorgeous satin blossom from a previous Just Add Paper kit was going to be perfect for this colour combo.

I shared a couple of new layouts on the D-lish Scraps blog last week featuring the now sold out June Just Add Paper Kit .
The kits are released on the first day of each month and are jam packed with a fabulous mix of embellishments for a fantastic low price of just $10, but you need to be quick because at this price they don't stay available for long ;)
I loved playing with the fun coloured wire, which you'll find here to create some fun coiled accents to add some detail to the journal spot and flair.
You'll find all the details of the other items I have used over in my original post.

I also used the kit to create a very different look by pairing it with neutral colours and lots of pretty gold accents from the D-lish store.
again playing with the coloured wire to create a fun script word
I am loving all the cute accents that help me add all the finishing touches to my pages... how cute is this mirrored heart!!
again you can find a full list of the items I have used on my original post on the D-lish blog.

scrap the boys...

I am absolutely delighted to be joining the new Scrap the Boys team!!!! Wendy has put together a fabulous mix of artists for the new Design Team and there are loads of fun challenges coming up that are sure to get you inspired to scrap all of your boy's adventures :)

The July Challenge is to show your boy's playing with their big boy's toys, and I decided to go with a photo of little Cayden fishing with his dad.

Cayden loves to go fishing and although he has his own 'small' rod he always wants to have a go at the big rods so he can "catch the big fish too".

I went with a bright nautical theme, but kept it simple because the photo pretty much says's it all

Be sure to check out all the amazing layouts the team has created and link your entries up for the July Challenge before 31st July to be eligible to win some of the great prizes!!
