In a first for me, one of my layouts was requested for publishing by two different mags! What happened is that I submitted it to one mag and when several weeks had passed without a response, I presumed they weren't interested so I submitted it to another mag, which accepted it within a few days, so I sent it off only to get an email from the original sub saying they would love to publish it :) I felt a bit silly having to explain that they could no longer publish the page - but they were really cool.

I know it's early but I can hardly wait for Christmas so we can put up the 7.5 feet of glorious pine I bought this week :)Oh and don't forget - you have until the end of the month to help support Click 'n' Scrap's massive Pink Ribbon fund raiser to be in the running for a share of $330 worth of vouchers. I originally set up my scrap area in our garage about a year ago, but found myself bringing more and more stuff into the dinning room so I be closer to my family, but had finally had enough of the mountain of overflowing pizza boxes, and decided I desperately needed some sort of storage. because our dinning room joins onto the lounge area and is visible at all times I really needed a storage solution that would suit our decor but be functional at the same time.

I definitely think that there is something very satisfying about bringing home a flat packed box and 'building' some furniture - so naturally I headed to Ikea :) and ended up with the Hajdeby unit which was only $80 - bargain! well it would have been a bargain if I had stopped there, but I also had to have 4 of the Lekman red acrylic cubes, and at $20 each they cost the same as the unit itself... but I'm convinced it was money well spent because not only do they hold heaps of stuff, they also fit the rather awkward 12x12 size. I also got some boxes, magazine holders and these fab 2 drawer boxes... did you notice they all have label holders :)

Another great buy has been these plastic file cases which are available in newsagents and supermarkets for around $2 - I have been adding a couple to my grocery shopping each week and think they really work well for holding everything from embellishments to clear stamps.

My 11yr old put the unit together for me in under an hour, and I have spent the past week organising my stash to put inside, and although I could not fir everything in (the rest has ended up in my garage crafting area) I've got all the essentials within reach and can do a quick clear out when we have visitors, and I've got to say that it feels great to finally be organised!!

It's taken me a while to get these up, but here is what I created for the October CyberCrop at Little Scrapbook Shop over the weekend.
The colour challenge was to create a layout using the colours orange, black & white

almost forgot to mention that this month's theme was to use haberdashery items in all the challenges

I wish I had time to have done all the challenges, because I loved using the habby items and was surprised at how many bits and pieces I actually had in my stash :)

The How Dare You theme for this month is to use Glue and Adhesives on a project, and after a few failed experiments I came up with the idea of tinting regular PVA glue with a little acrylic paint and painting the mix on to transparency. By adding glue into the paint I was able to get a translucent finish that paint alone could not produce, and because the transparency is non-porous the glue distorted as it dried leaving some areas clear.

I know it's a bit early - but I really love Christmas and could'nt help but create something with the gorgeous new Kaiser Christmas products.

Well the long weekend came and went way too fast, but luckily there is still a week left of school holidays - I've really been loving the late nights and sleep ins :)

And for an interesting turn of events -on Thursday night I got an offer to join a design team where I had done a few challenges, but then on Friday I got a message saying the store was closing, followed by an email on Saturday saying that it will be staying open, but only to find that it had really closed - confused? I sure was confused... to say the least!

But in other, more positive news I have been invited to do a feature for Scrapbooking Memories which will appear in the magazine early next year - and of course I said yes!!!

And speaking of design teams (this shop is very much up and running lol) I have been playing with some of the gorgeous Bella products available at a great price at Click n' Scrap, and don't know if it's the Spring air, but I have really been drawn to all the flowers and pretty things around at the moment and loved working with this range.

I've used Lisa's funky crown for this card, and just got news that I've won a challenge for it - yay!!

and even made my very first Xmas cards for the year... still can't believe that it's just around the corner!

It's been a while since I have written, and I have a mix of new things to share. First up I am super excited to have my work featured on the Inspirational blog, an awesome place where crafters from around the world are featured for their inspiring work!

Next up, I was so happy to get a much anticipated package from the lovely and very talented Naomi filled with all the gorgeous goodies I won on her awesome blog giveaway. Everything came wrapped in pink tissue paper with an adorable card and matching gift tag - so very sweet.... thanks again Naomi xx

I also received a great RAK from Lisa, with some cool stuff and the cutest little embellished felt crown for being this month's addicted princess thanks Lisa :)

And in other news I have had another one of my layouts accepted for publishing - yay! and have a card and layout featured in the current Scrapbooking Memories Magazine using a Melissa Frances designed sketch- pg 33.

I am enjoying making a mix of things lately, and love the frame I created for a challenge - which was to make an inspirational wall hanging for your scrapping space
