summer fun...

Hi again :) I created a summer themed layout for the PL Junkies blog featuring some exclusive 'Summer Themed' items from Craft Paper Scissors.

My {scrAp this!} Summer Fun Polaroid Frame helped me set the tone for the entire layout and it was from this that I was inspired to use a series of frames to highlight certain details on both my photos and cards.

I really like the way the frames draw the eye to certain parts of the photo without overwhelming it and adding a cluster of small embellies to each frame helped to anchor it to the page. The Polaroid also helped me determine which accent colours to add to my layouts and I used little pops of gold and yellow throughout both pages.

The fun wood veneer exclusives added a lot of texture to the page and were great for continuing the summer theme and telling the story in some of the photos.

blog hopping with kellie stamps...

Hi and welcome to the Kellie Stamps and {scrAp this!} blog hop!!!! I have been a Give a Girl a Blog fan for quite some time and am thrilled to be teaming up with Kellie and her wonderful team and absolutely love the results of combining our products.
Kellie Stamps summer fun & summer mini clear stamp sets, wood veneer flairs
{scrAp this!} geometric heart accents, felt & glitter triangles, polaroid shaker card

I was inspired by Kellie's summer themed stamp sets to create a layout about one of my favourite beaches.
the fuzzy felt and sparkly glitter in my triangle accents helped me choose this soft summery colour combo.
I stamped the title onto the vellum window of the polaroid shaker card - which is filled with tiny pastel stars and love how the stamping resembles the sand in the photo when used with glitter embossing powder.
you don't need a lot of product to create interesting effects if you vary the textures. I combined metallic stitching in my geometric heart, glitter embossed stamping, engraved wood veneer and a tiny bit of fuzzy felt for this easy accent cluster. I love the way the stamped words peek out from inside the triangles.

Because I was still in mood to create, I got out another combination of products to use in my project life album.
Kellie Stamps cozy and monday-friday clear stamp sets, wood veneer flairs, wood mounted stamps
{scrAp this!} gold dipped designs, geometric heart accents, 3x4" cards and 4x6" stitched word borders

I got really behind with project life last year so I decided to revisit my 2013 album and even though it wasn't a particularly eventful week, it feels great to record all of these little moments!
here's a closer look at the left hand side
The stitched word borders are perfect for adding to journal cards and 6x4 photos and the 3x4 vellum backed love cards are a great way to add some interest over your favourite patterns.
I absolutely love Kellie's Monday-Friday stamp set and have used it numerous times throughout my albums and you really can't go wrong with a simple grid base for your stamping.
if you are not confident stamping directly onto your photos, vellum strips are a great alternative!
here's the right hand side...
metallic accents, stamping and stitching are a quick and easy way to dress up project life pockets.

{scrAp this!} with sketches...

I went through a bit of a scapping drought recently and as much as I wanted to get back into the swing of things, I couldn't seem to get a single layout to come together. But after doing a bit of shopping at Anna's Craft Cupboard I decided to give some of their sketches a go and it looks like it was just what I needed!

I really loved the design of the June sketch and have used one of the many beach pics I took over summer along with some of my brand new {scrAp this!} goodies to create this page.
I'll have a range of peek-a-boo journal cards, stitched word strips, glitter accents and lots of other new goodies available for sale soon, so make sure you have "liked" the {scrAp this!} facebook page to keep up to date.
The gold embossed vellum and tiny sequins are from one of Kayla's gorgeous Polly Scrap Kits.
and I have added some of my favourite Give a Girl a...stamps from Kellie.

I went with another beach pic for the May sketch, this time using an older pic of little Cayden chasing after seagulls.
I've added one of my {scrAp this!} feather stacks to the embellishment cluster.

I also had a go at the April sketch to create a bright colourful page for my happy guy :)

I've used a bright mix of Simple Stories Sn@p as well as a fuzzy felt arrow and heart jotter.
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by xx

February at scrap the boys...

It's been a l-o-n-g time since I've scrapped anything, so I was happy to have a challenge to get done for Scrap the Boys! Sadly this will be my last one as my DT term has run out :( it's been great to be part of such a wonderful team and I have really enjoyed all of the challenges.

This month's theme is to use a photo of you and your son and and create a 'boy' inspired love layout ♥ I've gone with a pic of me and my littlest guy to create this...
Scrap the Boys Feb challenge by Aga
I know that pink isn't very a very 'boyish' colour but I loved the heart paper and think it works well with the greys so I decided to use it anyway ;)
