Smile...

Smile is the theme for this month's dare at Aussie Dares - and I couldn't resist doing a page about my little Cameron who just has a way of making everyone around him smile :) Also you may have noticed that I am kind of hooked on the White With 1 colour swaps and got back all these cool items in exchange for my trees for the Naturals swap.
Another thing I'm loving right now is using RW Laser cuts and have added one of the fabulous flourishes to this layout which was made to capture some of the not so perfect moments that our lives are also sometimes made of. I decided to go with hidden journaling so the words could be pure and straight from the heart, and wrote to my boys telling them that sometimes being a mother is hard.... and that sometimes I'm sorry.
And speaking of journaling I've noticed that sometimes I struggle to find the right words to to include on my layouts, so was happy to come across Journal It the other day and hope it will be some help ;)

Finally some scrapping...

I finally have some scrapping to share - but not because I have been busy doing any but rather because like a lot of people (over 140 of them) I also applied for the Kaiser design team, and although I didn't make it through I'm very happy to have new stuff to share :)

First up was my double using the very cute Fun Fair rangecan you tell I made the orange elephant myself by using the blue one above as a template - I think it's a pretty close match ;)and this was my single page all about meI used the Spirograph range and had fun with my scissors snipping out all the flowers
and this is my mini album - using the fun bright colours of the Mumma Bushka range and an example of what's inside.
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have something cool planned for National Scrapbooking Day tomorrow :)

Thank you very much for all the well wishes, it’s soooo nice to know you care :) and even though I’m still not 100% I am feeling a lot better than a few days ago! And speaking of caring the lovely Tiffiny sent me this wonderful present to make me feel better – thank you so much my sweet sweet friend! My beautiful boys are still on school holidays and have done such a great job of looking after me – Christian has been helping out with housework and little Cameron made sure I got plenty of cuddles and has been leaving me little notes like these :)
Also a big thanks to Naomi because my first Scraptapestry kit arrived this week…. and you just know the kit is going to be fabulous when you open the box to find it wrapped like this!!
and trust me its like a paper crafter's heaven inside ;)
And last but not least thanks for stopping by, and I hope you are having a great weekend :)

When it rains it pours...

First up I want to say thanks to everyone who has been leaving me lovely comments or sending emails :) and I'm sorry if I have been a little slow getting back to you!

So last week I started feeling a little sick - ok it's not like I've never had the flu before, then a few days into it I got a ugly case of conjunctivitis which is only just starting to clear up - then this morning I woke up to a very sore and swollen mouth, and inspect it to find what looks like an ulcer and a lot of swelling & redness on my gums - and I'm not usually the type to feel sorry for myself.... but come on already!!! I am in pain, I am cranky, can barley eat, and basically feel like crap :(

So I don't really have any scrapping to show... because I haven't done any! Although I did manage to make this card - perhaps to cheer myself up ;) using this cute RW laser cut tree and some Bazzill. Thanks for the visit and hopfully the next time you stop by I will be all better and have something creative to share :)

April's theme at Aussie Dares is LIFE - and as always the team have come up with some wonderfully inspiring ideas, so be sure to check them out!

For me life is only as good as we make it and even though we all lead such busy lives I always encourage my boys to take time each day to enjoy the little things - whether it's a field of fallen leaves, or listening to a favourite song.... fill each day with the good stuff :)

Remeber When, Mushrooms and more....

We've enjoyed a very full Easter weekend with our families and our boys have gathered enough chocolate to last for several months! and spent Easter Monday at the NSW Central Tablelands picking forest mushrooms and wild blackberries at the beautiful Oberon pine forests.
The mushrooms we look for are Saffron Milk Caps and this is how you find them - covered in fallen pine needles and forest debris. We ended up collecting several bucket fulls and cooked some up for our lunch. and all the kids love to pick the abundant blackberries straight from the bushes - which are delicious! it was a great day out.... until it started to rain and then the fog rolled in - but we will be back to do it again at the start of next Autumn :)

On the scrapping front I am very happy to announce that I have joined the Remember When team - and have completed my first page using one of their gorgeous RW Laser cuts. Also this month I have this page featured int he 'Autumn' gallery of the Scrapbooking Memoriesas well as this one in the current Scrapbook Creations 'Less is More' gallery

Other than that - I already have a build up of scrapping projects to get through so I'd better get a move on lol :0

Happy Easter...

Just wanted to take a minute to share the cute decoration I came up with this year. To make this I planted some cress seeds into a bowl of cotton wool, which one week later sprouted into this cute little mound and today I added some paper blossoms and a few fluffy chicks :)

We started our Easter celebrations this morning after the traditional Easter basket blessing at the Polish church - where the priest blesses baskets filled with symbolic traditional Easter foods with sprinkle of holy water and a prayer and although we aren't really that religious, it's something we enjoy every year. I hope you have a wonderful Easter weekend, however you celebrate the occasion.

April's One Little Aussie Word...

The word for April is NOW and this is what I came up withAlso be sure to check what the rest of the team has come up with and maybe give it a go yourself :)

Goodbye March....

Well it's been another busy month, and I thought I should share all the other things I've been working on - and I don't know about you but I'm loving swaps atm :) and have been taking part in the White with 1 colour swaps for the past few months. It all started with the red swap when I made these ladybug tags in return for all of these fab creations
then I made 15 fluffy tailed birdies for the black swap in exchange for all of theseNext was pink....
and then there was orange...and now we are up to naturals ranging from browns to creams and to me nothing is more natural then cute little trees - and I can't wait to see what I get back in return!!
Also on the weekend I found myself itching to do some scrapping and decided on the A2Z Scraplets sketch challenge and last but not least I have been painting -and finally finished my Klimt inspired forest for one of Gary Reef's Mixed Media Art challenges
and to keep in in true Klimt style I've included some gold leaf detailAnd with that I can say goodbye to March and get ready for all that this month will bring :) and will be back on Friday with a page for April's One Little Aussie Word.

White on White....

I know March is almost over, but I couldn't let the month go by without giving the Aussie Dares challenge a go - and a challenge it was ;) this month's theme was white! and doing white on white was much harder than I though, but I tried to add interest with textures and dimension and even got out my quilling tool to create the little roses.... and btw that's a photo of me and my mum.... don't you just love the 70's hairdos :)

And for something different and much more colourful, I've had a play with some mixed media techniques for this month's art journal challenge at Blue Bazaar. I got my inspiration from the quote "It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." by Henry David Thoreau.
Also while browsing at Target the other day I came across these cute exercise books.....they are part of the 'Teacher's Pet' stationery range by Cristina Re - and I don't what I'm going to use them for yet, but I just knew I 'had' to have one of each lol.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Catching up.....

Well I've manged to keep my self busy since my last post and have plenty of work to share!

These are from the Little Scrapbook Shop's March Cyber Crop
and these are the pages I made for Sarah Gladman's Memory Gifts - and even though I didn't get to finish as many as I would have liked, I am happy to have been able to contribute to such a wonderful cause!!Also one of my favourite layouts has finally been published in this month's Scrapbook Creations :)and I found my waterfall layout on page 7 of Scrapbooking Memories.... (slowly nudging my way closer to the cover lol) although you wouldn't think they'd still keep spelling my name wrong ;)I've also done a few projects for Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft mag so keep an eye out for those too.

Also can you believe that since the start of March I have scrapped over 40 layouts!! :0 it's no wonder I'm feeling pretty scrapped out!! so once I finish a couple more things I've started I plan to work on some mixed media projects instead!
