I'm also a Kit Sponsor for the race and have been busy making loads of these {scrAp this!} felt flags that are included in the Race Survival Kits.

The theme for Scrap the Boys this month is to create a layout inspired by and including your child's artwork and this is what I came up with...
I was inspired by Cameron's awesome hot air balloon artwork and even managed to get a few pics of him drawing it too :)
You've still got until the end of the month to get your entries in for the chance to win some awesome prizes...check out the details here. Also Mel is looking for 3-4 girls to join the STB team so if you have boys and want to share your layouts about them be sure to check it out!!!

catching up part 3...

Hi again, I'm still trying to get things up to date and have another 'catch up' post to share :)  this time to with some layouts I created back in June over at Scrapz Biz. I started the month with a Step by Step Tutorial to create some folded paper accents for my layout
using Crate Paper Story Teller range from the store
they were very easy to make and you can find all of the instructions over in the forum if you'd like to have a go at making some of your own

Our challenges for the month took us into a few different rooms of the house and have a look who I found waking up from a nap in my bedroom...
This page started off as a Base Jump challenge
using this base as my starting point
I used a mix of American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neapolitan from the June Cuddlez Cardmaking Kit to create the page
... I'm pretty sure there are still a couple of kits available and at just $19.95 these kits are fantastic value!

Next up we headed into the Living Room for a
 Scrap a Rainbow challenge
where I used the above colour palette to create this page of all my boys

I couldn't resist using a pic of little Cayden for the bathroom challenge :)
and because this was a Fetch a Sketch challenge
I also created a sketch to match
and used a few cardstock squares to created a tiled effect or the background
and in the kitchen I found some dessert with a Note Worthy challenge ;)

Thanks for sticking around while I try to catch up. I think I'll need one more catch up post and then I'll finally be up to date... YAY :)

Scrapz.Biz Olympiad...

The Olympics may be over but there are still a few more days to get your entries in for our Scrapz.Biz Olympiad! We've had loads of fun competing in a variety of scrappy events and each challenge involved a sketch along with some added criteria to complete.

I was the host of the Archery event and used the sketch to come up with this page of my boy day dreaming on the swings.
The criteria was to use a bulls eye design, arrows and the word aim in either your title or journalling

I also hosted the Weightlifting event, where along with the sketch you had to add something heavy to your page, use numbers and the word weight.
I used chipboard, metal and wood veneer accents for the heavy part, numbers on my patterned paper
and the word weight in my journalling

All entries need to be in the gallery by midnight 19 August to be eligible for the awesome prizes... check out all of the challenges and rules of play here.

Hi and welcome to your final stop along the Torch Relay Blog Hop :) You should have already visited both Sheree's & Chloe's but blogs if you haven't, hop along there now so you can leave a comment!
Over the next few weeks we are running an Olympiad over at Scrapz.Biz which starts today, Friday 27 July 2012 at 7am with the Opening Ceremony but before the Olympiad begins we have been holding a Torch Relay blog hop where each of the design team have shared a motivational card or layout of encouragement. Here's mine...
Using Echo Park's So Happy Together collection
along with some gorgeous glitter Thickers as well as a few other bits & pieces from the store.

Once you've left a comment on each of our blogs, you'll need to create and upload your own motivational card/layout of encouragement by Sunday midnight, 29 July 2012 to the Scrapz gallery to go into a draw for a nice little October Afternoon scrappy pack!

Moving onto the comp...which starts now!!!
There will be a total of 8 events you can compete in. Each challenge is sketch-based with extra criteria as a requirement.
A merit prize will be awarded for each event. Each competitor who has completed the challenge by the due date and has completed a minimum of 5 events will go into a lucky draw to win the merit prize and a $10 voucher for that event. Multiple wins are allowed. You will go into the draw for each event completed whether you have won a prize in another event or not. Prizes will be drawn at the conclusion of the competition.
There will also be a major prize for the most successful competitor and a runner-up prize. A minimum of 5 events have to be completed to be in the running for the major prizes.
The runner-up will receive a $50 scrap pack.
The winner of Scrapz Olympiad will be invited to be guest designer for one month and receive a $100 scrap pack.
All challenges have to be completed by midnight August 19, 2012.
You've gotta be in it to win it and we'd love for you to join in the fun!! :-)

I'm still trying to catch up with all of the layouts I have been scrapping and found a few more from May that I haven't blogged yet :)
First up is a layout I created using one of my favourite colour combos for a Scrap a Rainbow challenges over at Scrapz.Biz. We were looking at using Inspiration Titles on our layouts and I loved this sweet quote I spotted on Pinterest.
I used a mix of MME goodness to create a page about my little ray of sunshine
We then moved onto Punctuation in our Scrap Write Now challenges... can you tell which one I used?
I decided to use a jumbo sized question mark on my page about some of the funny things Cayden says, this time using lots of Jillibean Soup goodies from the store
Next up is a Fetch a Sketch challenge with a Lists theme and I chose to create a numbered list going down the page using Echo Park's Note to Self collection
Here's the sketch I came up with
and a few of the details...
Repetition was the next topic of our Scrap a Rainbow challenges
and the challenge was to use the above colour combo along with buttons and other round elements
and I scrapped it using a mix of Crate Paper Story Teller and Studio Calico Abroad ranges
  I just ♥ his cheeky face :)
Thanks for sticky around through another catch up and I hope you'll join me for the next lot :)

Oh and don't forget that the Scrapz.Biz Olympiad starts over at Sheree's blog today so be sure to stop by and leave a comment for the chance to win some fabulous October Afternoon goodies!
