Hi there :) its been a while between posts and I thought it was about time that I caught up and am starting with a project life spread I created using another awesome kit from Scrappy Canary.
This layout documents week 27 and even though this kit includes a lot of travel themed pieces, once again it was perfect for recording all of our day to day moments.
As always I began the week with a custom title card which I pieced together using various elements from the kit along with a few items from my stash.
I have noticed that my weekly photos often look busy because there is no real theme to tie them all in together but by using a few pops of black on my cards, I was able to form a visual connection that helped to balance out the page.
I often try to select filler cards that will help to tell the story of what is happening in the photos, and thought of this when using the 'X marks the spot' card between the two pics of my boys playing with their Nerf guns. I also used a mix of small star stickers across the pockets to help it all tie in together.
I created a layered base for my journaling to balance out the the 6 x 4" photo along side it and it also works well with the title card from the previous side when you look at the whole page.
Unfortunately the Scrappy Canary store will be closed for the next few months and as a result I haven't had any design team commitments to keep me on track, but as I shared on Instagram earlier this week I am making an effort to get back up to date so stay tuned for more layouts!
