decorative tape diy...

I really like the look of decorative tape on layouts, but because I didn't have that many in my stash and needed some fast for a product challenge I set a couple of weeks ago I decided to have a go at making my own. I explored a few different methods for creating my own tapes and have shared what I learnt along the way over at Scrapz.Biz

these were some of the methods I tried out
you'll find all the details for each method here
and this is the page I created for my challenge using
 Echo Park A Boy's Life
combined with some of my own custom tapes :)

 Have a great weekend!!

Last month I had a play with one of the awesome Scrapz.Biz Ticklez kits for our 'Gelati' themed challenges - it was a Scrap it Blind challenge which where you’re given a set of instructions on how to put a layout together without actually seeing the layout as a guide, it's always fun to see how everyone interprets the instructions and what they'll end up with :)

This was the page I created to base my instructions on
using some of the gorgeous summer colours from the Holiday Ticklez kit, to scrap about my boys exploring at the beach
This page really makes me wish I was relaxing at the beach right now... if only we had the weather for it though ;) hopefully the sun is shining out your way?

it's all about the boys...

You may have already noticed that the majority of my scrapping is about my boys and I am very excited to announce that I have joined the Scrap the Boys Creative Team :)

Here's my very first layout for the March challenge using “Life is Good” as your title, including the colour red and handwritten journalling.
I've combined lots of different ranges to create this page about my little fatty enjoying himself at the park
Come and check out all the fab layouts the rest of the girls have created and meet the new team here
Thanks for stopping by :)

always bring your own sunshine...

I've just managed to squeeze in one more page before the month was over :) inspired by the February sketch challenge at Show us Your Stuff.
I couldn't resist creating some fun paper dolls for the try this technique part of the challenge
and was inspired by the super cute ruffled paper from the new Dear Lizzy range to create my own layered ruffles using some crepe paper streamers and have also used a few of Charm's gorgeous embellies for the handmade part of the challenge.
