Fa-la-la...

With the Christmas celebrations over, I was able to enjoy a little craft time and couldn't wait to play with some of the gorgeous new goodies I received from StudioForty.

I paired up some of their fun stamps, stickers and die-cuts to create a layout with one of my favourite festive pics.

I love a versatile stamp set and even though the 'Exploring' stamps are not necessarily Christmas themed, I was able to use the gorgeous branch designs to create a cute tree for my festive layout by stamping the branches in a simple triangular shape.

To vary the size of the branches, I only applied ink to a portion of the stamp at a time - adding more ink and more of the design as I went down the tree. Once I had the basic shape stamped, I built up the layers to create a fuller tree then cut out the design and added a layer of pretty gold foiled vellum over the top. I like the way the vellum softens the stamping and hides some of the imperfections while also creating the look of twinkling lights on the tree.

I added a few cute designs from the 'Winter is Coming' Die-cut Elements, and used the 'Winter is Coming' Candy Cane Alphabet Stickers to create my title.

The end of the year is fast approaching and I feel like I can't keep up, which is why I am a few days late to share what I created for this month's Kraft Plus challenge!

The theme is Kraft + Home Inspired and can be interpreted in any way you wish.
'It could be a layout about renovations,
it could be a new home card, or a layout about the kids leaving home... there are so many options.
We look forward to seeing how "home" inspires you'.

My layout was inspired by my little guy's favourite spot to chill out at home with a snack and his iPad aka 'his happy place' and I used a fun house themed patterned paper from Crate Paper to help set the tone. I kept the page clean and simple so that the focus would be on the photo and the mint tag at the top of the page slides out to reveal the journaling.

Be sure to check out all of the fabulous inspiration from all of the team and guest designers over on the Kraft+ blog and upload your entries by the end of the month for a chance to win some of the this month's prizes.

The November challenge from Kraft+ went live today and I really enjoyed playing along with this month's fun theme.

Challenge: KRAFT + something that inspires you from your closet.. don't forget to SHARE where your inspiration came from.

My inspiration came from my cute polka dot shirt and fave pair of blue jeans.

I combined a mix of different polka dot patterns to represent the shirt (yes, I am wearing it in this photo) and stitched some denim paper to the page. I also added several clothing tags, a swatch of actual denim and a button to help tie all the clothing elements in together.

Check out the Kraft+ blog for to see how the rest of the team have taken on this challenge, and don't forget to upload your projects by the end of the month for a chance to win one of this month's awesome prizes. Thanks for stopping by xx

We have a fun 'blast from the past' challenge at Kraft+ this month, using up some old school products from your stash on a kraft background.

I dug deep into my paper stash to find a mix of older papers and was very excited to find half a sheet of vintage Sassafras Lass paper that I have been hoarding for years!

The cloud stickers came from Echo Park and Sassafras Lass, and I used a heart punch with the grid paper. I still love using vellum on my pages today and liked the way the metallic copper hearts from WRMK worked with the other papers.

I hand cut the leaves from some old October Afternoon paper and used a mix of brads and buttons along with some hand cut doilies from a sheet of  Echo Park paper, and even used up some clear Dymo tape in the bottom cluster.

Check out all the inspiration from the team over on the Kraft+ blog, and don't forget to upload your layouts by the end of the month for a chance to win one of this month's prizes.

ARTastic challenge blog...

I am excited to be featured as a guest designer over on the ARTastic Challenge blog and had a lot of fun taking on this month's challenge. This month's featured art work is by Donald James Waters called 'Spot On' and the criteria is to create a Tribute to Dad - any Dad anyway you might like to portray them.

I used the colours from the piece as inspiration to create a layout featuring my boys with their dad on Father's day.

I used a mix of watercolour paint, texture paste and paper layers to give my page some depth and topped it off with a few fun embellies.

You can check out all the fun layouts from the ARTastic team, and join in on the challenge over on their blog. Thanks for stopping by xx
