Don't you just 'love' those ME pages you get challenged to come up with? Well I've just completed one for a challenge at 123 Scrapbook and usually I dread them but surprisingly I'm happy with how this one turned out! I decided to focus on all the things that make up the essence of who I am, Me the mother, the wife, the artist, the collector (hoarder), the author with a story to tell, the photographer, the homemaker, the quirky Aquarius and the happy me living on top of the world.
Considering that up until a few months ago I hadn't ever made a card, I seem to be making a lot of them lately- I haven't actually given them to anyone yet, but I enjoy the process. I also got an email from Stamping & Papercraft mag that they'd like me to send in a card set I made to be considered for publishing - so I'm pretty excited as this was my very first card submission! Here are a few cards I created for a challenge at 123 Scrapbook, all made using Kelly Panacci - turquoise mini square paper.
Also a layout for the fun challenge using 6x12 page, stamps and freehand doodling - here's what I came up with
Today I was forced to overcome my fear of PINK... my first task for the Click 'n' Scrap design team was to use the K & Co Smitten range, which although it's really gorgeous is made up almost entirely of shades of pink! This was a real step out of my comfort zone because I live in a house filled with males and don't normally use this colour (I have only ever made 2 pink pages), but I guess that's what it's all about - trying something new. So after many hours spent staring hopelessly at the products - I finally gave it a go and I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the results! I made two layouts and three cards - all lovely and pink! Here's a close up of my favourite details...
I just got news that I won a challenge at the Little Scrapbook Shop, June Cybercrop. YAY!!!
The cool thing is that this is my third cybercrop win in the last 3 months at their site - so I'm feeling pretty great about that, and can hardly wait until next month - it's always heaps of fun!
The challenge was to make a set of 5 cards using a black base, bright colours, stamping and bling! This is what I made -
I also completed Black is Back challenge, using black + one colour + handmade embellishments.

Well I have had a great week so far! I just got an acceptance email for two layouts I submitted to Creating Keepsakes magazine - this is my first time to be published in this mag so I am very excited! I also have a layout in the current Scrapbook Creations Magazine #55 (Beads Gallery).
Yesterday I received a RAK (Random Act of Kindness) in the mail from the lovely Huia at 123 Scrapbook - thanks again! I am also waiting for a replica Socceroos Jersey and Ball that I won for my boys to arrive. And to top it all off - I was also a lucky winner of a prize at Little Scrapbook Shop, just for completing the long weekend challenge. Here is the layout:
Also completed this page for the LSS sketch challenge - the photo is of me and my sister way back in 1981 (which explains my helmet hair style) I'm on the right.
So I am feeling pretty lucky - I should buy myself a scratchie!!!
ALWAYS READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!
Here is a lesson I just learnt the hard way! My mum bought some hair dye, and asked me to touch up her re-growths, she has fairly short hair and I thought it would be such a waste to throw out the remainder, so I decided I would do my re-growths too! Well while my mum's hair turned out quite nice, my once blonde hair is now a very unflattering shade of orange!
Here is my lesson... If I had bothered to read the insrtuctions I would have performed the strand test, I would have left the solution in for the required time, and I would still have blonde hair!

It's been an exciting month for me, I was chosen as a designer for Click 'n' Scrap - YEY- I can't wait to get started, also I have finally taken the plunge and created this blog, but please be patient while I figure out what I'm doing!
Those who know me know I have a 'thing' for trees so Autumn is a time of bliss for me, I love all the beautiful colour against the grey skies and recently dragged my boys away from their PS3 to come out and play - and they loved it!

I have also been busy creating art in many forms and have taken on plenty of new challenges. I will put some photos up later in the week.
